Warranty Policy

General Automotive JBP is committed to providing high-quality used OEM auto parts backed by reliable warranty coverage. Please review the following Warranty Policy carefully before placing your order. By purchasing from us, you agree to all terms and conditions set forth in this agreement.

1. Warranty Coverage & Period

1.1 Standard Warranty

General Automotive JBP provides a standard 60-day parts replacement warranty on all 'A Grade Tested OEM' parts, beginning from the date of delivery as confirmed by the shipping carrier's records.

1.2 Extended Warranty

An extended warranty option of up to 90 days may be available for select parts. Please inquire at the time of purchase for eligibility. All other terms and conditions remain the same under extended warranty coverage.

1.3 Electrical Components

Electrical items β€” including Engine Control Modules (ECMs), Body Control Modules (BCMs), Transmission Modules, and Transfer Case Modules β€” carry a 30-day replacement warranty from the date of delivery. Electrical parts are guaranteed only to have the correct manufacturer part number. Up to one replacement will be provided for non-working modules. Modules that have been modified in any way will not be covered.

Note: Some modules may need to be reset or reprogrammed by an authorized dealer. Parts cannot be returned until verified by the dealer that proper reset has been performed.

2. What Is Covered

2.1 Engines

Engine warranties cover defects in the block, heads, pistons, crankshafts, camshafts, rocker arms, and oil pumps. Engines are guaranteed against knocking and excessive smoking. The long block is guaranteed. The following are NOT covered under warranty:

  • Bolt-on accessories, manifolds, gaskets, seals, hoses
  • Oil pan, timing belts and covers
  • Fuel injection systems or carburetors
  • Electrical control modules, sensors, or wiring inadvertently shipped with the unit

Important: Warranty is immediately voided if the engine heat tab is melted or removed.

2.2 Transmissions

Transmissions are warranted to be in good working order against slippage or shifting failures. The following items are NOT covered:

  • Modulators, governors, or electrical control modules
  • Linkage, mounts, seals, or gaskets
  • Transmission fluid or filters

All components of the transmission including the oil pan must be thoroughly cleaned before assembly. Seals and gaskets must be replaced prior to installation.

2.3 Transfer Cases

Transfer cases are covered under the same general warranty terms as transmissions. All seals must be replaced and fluids flushed at time of installation.

2.4 Body Parts

Body parts such as hoods, fenders, bumpers, quarter panels, and header panels are covered for structural integrity. They are NOT guaranteed to include hinges, ornaments, latches, trim, headlights, or grilles. Specific color matches are not guaranteed β€” we recommend repainting to match your vehicle. Body parts not matching vehicle color are not eligible for return based on color alone.

2.5 Turbochargers & Accessories

Turbocharger door seals may not be in perfect condition and may require replacement during the warranty period. Accessories such as starters, alternators, air compressors, power steering pumps, and optical distributors are generally not included with engine purchases and are not covered under the engine warranty. If purchased separately, accessories carry their own warranty period.

3. Recommended Installation Procedures

Warranty coverage is valid ONLY when the following recommended installation procedures are completed. Proof of these steps may be required when filing a warranty claim.
